A 10-year-old girl was killed after being thrown from an amusement ride at a fair in South Jersey on Saturday evening, 10/12. It happened around 6:15 p.m. at the 41st Deerfield Township Harvest Festival. The girl was on a Wisdom Super Sizzler ride called "Xtreme." She was airlifted to Cooper University Health Care where she was pronounced dead. The festival was open on Sunday for the final day for those who wished to mourn. Skelly's Amusements posted on Facebook, "though we have been given permission to operate the other rides by the state, we don't have it in our heart." They offered refunds for anyone who still had ride tickets. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Four teens were arrested after Philadelphia Police responded to Northeast Philadelphia on Monday evening, 10/14, for a large crowd of juveniles causing a disturbance. The group of around 500 had been at the Rolling Thunder Skating Rink on the 7200 block of Roosevelt Boulevard in Mayfair for a free skate night. At around 8 p.m. the large crowd pushed out of the rink and began walking up and down the Boulevard. Some fights broke out and businesses were disrupted. Police shutdown the intersection. Wawa and McDonald's closed due to the disturbance. Three teens were arrested for disorderly conduct and one teen was arrested for vandalism (allegedly throwing rocks at a police car). No injuries have been reported.

Six people including a teenage boy were injured in a shooting in North Philadelphia late Sunday afternoon, 10/13. It happened around 5:30 p.m. at 8th and Clearfield Streets. The victims were all males ages 14-27. They were standing on the corner at the time when the shooter drove by and opened fire on the group. They were all taken to Temple University Hospital. According to acting Philadelphia Police Commissioner Christine Coulter the gun fire hit non-vital areas. The 14-year-old was hit in his hand. She also says they are looking at surveillance cameras from the area for more information on the suspect. No gun was found and no arrests have been made.
