Video Released Wildwood Deck Collapse; 2 People Injured in Shooting; Man Shoots Intruders, Leaves

Video has been released by the Wildwood Police Department related to the double deck collapse that happened on September 14th. The video is a collection of surveillance footage from the home that shows the collapse itself and body cams worn by responding officers as they try rescue victims caught in the rubble. One camera shows a group of people relaxing on the lower deck before the top two structures begin to fall on top of them. The officers' body cameras show the first responders working through the wreckage piece by piece trying to free all of the victims. Around 20 people were injured and taken to the hospital, 1 was seriously injured, but there were no fatalities. The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.

Two people were hurt in a shooting in North Philadelphia on Monday night, 9/23. It happened just after 7 p.m. on the 3000 block of Germantown Avenue. Two groups of men were involved in a wild shootout which was caught on surveillance. Two shooters were inside a Chinese takeout firing outside. 27 shell casings were recovered. A 16-year-old boy was shot in the left shoulder. A 48-year-old man was shot once the back. They were both taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition. Police do not know if the shooting victims were part of the incident or just caught in the crossfire. A stray bullet shattered the rear window of a passing minivan. There were four woman and baby girl inside. No one was injured. "Although there were a lot of people in that mini-van, a total of five people, none of them were struck by gunfire, none of them were struck by broken glass," said Chief Inspector Scott Small. No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

Philadelphia Police are looking for a man who stopped a home invasion early Monday morning, 9/23, by shooting the two intruders, one of whom later died, and then left the scene. It happened around 4 a.m. on the 7100 block of Walker Street, near Wellington Street, in the city's Tacony section. Two men wearing masks climbed up a deck and into a window. The men went upstairs and took a cell phone from a 9-year-old boy. They then went into the 33-year-old mother's room and held her at gunpoint demanding money. The woman's boyfriend then came from somewhere in the house and surprised the robbers. He opened fire, hitting both of them. A 23-year-old man was hit in the chest and jumped out the upper floor window. He was found lying in the drive. The man was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and died shortly after. The other suspect, 24-year-old Elvin Laureano-Ubiera, was shot in the left arm. He was taken to Nazareth Hospital. He faces charges. The boyfriend did not wait around for police and left the scene. Police say that it appears that he acted in self defense, but need to talk to him. Detectives believe the robbers may have been going after drugs and money, but no drugs were found.
