A man a young girl were injured in a double shooting in Chester on Friday afternoon, 8/30. It happened just after 3:30 p.m. on the 400 block of Highland Avenue. The 7-year-old was shot in the thigh and a man in his 50's was shot in the groin. They were both taken to the hospital in unknown condition. Police have released a photo of a vehicle wanted in connection with the shooting. Contact police if you have any information.

Authorities in Mercer County, New Jersey, are investigating a possible carjacking after an 80-year-old woman says she fell asleep in her car while parked in the driveway only to wake up hours later on the driveway with the car missing. Police responded to Fairlawn Avenue in Hamilton just after 4 a.m. on Thursday, 8/29. The elderly woman told them that she had fallen asleep inside in car around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, 8/28. When she woke up, she was on the ground and her car was gone. She does not remember anything, but she did have a cut and a bruise on her face. The woman's car was found in nearby Trenton. If you have any information call police at 609-581-4027.

Fire officials have ruled that the blaze that destroyed a historic church in West Philadelphia on Tuesday, 8/27, was accidental. Workers on the roof of the Greater Bible Way Temple on the 1400 block of North 52nd Street in Parkside were using an open flame when the fire broke out. No one was seriously injured, however, the church sustained significant damage including a collapsed roof. L+I has deemed the structure "imminently dangerous." They are concerned loose debris or tiles could come loose and fall. Unrelated to the fire, there were several violations on the attached rectory which had been converted into a shelter. The church had received zoning approval for housing units, but it did not complete the safety approval. The church vows to rebuild.
