Woman Ejected From Sesame Place After Confrontation, Video; DE Mosquitos EEE; Bucks Mom Gets 50 Yrs

A tense moment between guests standing in line at Sesame Place was caught on video and posted to social media. 26-year-old Zafirah Moore of Southwest Philadelphia was at the amusement/water park in Bucks County with her two children. Moore is muslim and was dressed in full religious garb. While waiting for a ride, Moore asked another guest, older white woman, to tone down her language. That woman then allegedly told Moore to "go back to where you came from." Moore started recording video at that point, trying to get the woman to repeat that line. The woman doesn't say that again but does offer up plenty of curses and shoves the middle finger in the camera. There were many children around watching. At the end of the video, the older woman tells Moore to stop filming her and grabs at the camera. Sesame Place removed the older woman from the park and has permanently banned her from returning. She did not get free passes as some misinformation has stated. Read a full statement from Sesame Place below:

"Sesame Place only welcomes tolerance, love and respect for others. Earlier this week, a park guest that did not live up to those values was promptly and decisively removed from our park. She has been permanently banned from returning, and contrary to rumors, she was not given tickets to return to the park. A video of the incident has since been posted on social media. Creating safe and inclusive experiences for all guests - especially children and their parents - is our top priority. The Sesame Place family deeply regrets that any park guest would have this kind of experience in our park. It runs counter to everything we stand for. We are in contact with the affected guests and are working to ensure they feel welcomed and safe at Sesame Place," the park said in a statement.

Health officials in Delaware have detected a rare, but potentially deadly mosquito-born illness. Delaware's Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control says that Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), known as Triple E, was found in chickens in southwestern New Castle County, along with Kent and Sussex Counties. The illness affect both humans and horses. It is rarer that West Nile Virus but more deadly. Infected people could bear no symptoms for the first four to 10 days. Symptoms include headache, high fever, chills and vomiting that is possibly followed by seizures or a coma. Officials encourage people to avoid mosquito bites but using insect repellent, covering up, and avoided mosquito-prone areas and times. You can also reduce their habitat by getting rid of standing water around your property.

A Bucks County woman was sentenced to 50 years in state prison for the death of her 2-year-old son. 43-year-old Jennifer Clarey of Tullytown pled guilty to third-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child on Tuesday, 8/6. Mazikeen Curtis was found dead in a home on the 500 block of Lovett Aveune in Tullytown Borough on Aug. 25, 2018, after neighbors called police to perform a welfare check. Clarey was found with self-inflicted wounds to her wrists. Clarey is accused of poisoning her son causing an opioid overdose. Lab tests showed the presence of Vicodin on Mazikeen's sippy cup and in the contents of the cup. An empty prescription bottle for Vicodin was found in the house. "You were there to protect this child, and instead you were so reckless, so thoughtless, so selfish so as to take this childâ€™s life before he had the chance to experience all life has to offer," said Senior Judge Clyde W. Waite. "This cannot be accepted in a civilized society."
