Police Say Couple Jumped in Delaware River; Lansdale Officer Stabbed; Patti LaBelle Way Misspelled

Philadelphia Police have released new details in connection to a couple found dead in the Delaware River on Thursday morning, 7/4. After reviewing area surveillance video, police say that 28-year-old Anjania Patterson and 39-year-old Timothy Siler arrived at the waterfront around 2:45 a.m. Thursday. They appear to be having a conversation near the water. At one point, Siler walked away. That's when Patterson jumps in the water. Siler comes back and jumps in after her. Their 5-year-old daughter is left in their Nissan SUV. Patterson's body was found around 6:45 a.m. on the 700 block of South Columbus Boulevard. Siler's body was found around 10:30 a.m. near Lombard Circle and Columbus Boulevard. Their child is now with family. Police are still trying to determine why they jumped in the river.

An off-duty Lansdale police officer was stabbed while assisting an officer from another district make an arrest in Bucks County on Friday morning, 7/5. It happened near Route 309 and Tollgate Road in Quakertown, Richland Township. Richland police received 911 calls about a man acting erratically walking on Rt. 309. That man has been identified as 45-year-old Stephen Deatelhauser. He was carrying a knife when a Richland Township officer responded. Deatelhauser ran into a CVS and pulled the fire alarm. He then started to run down 309. That's when off-duty Lansdale police officer Daniel Gallagher, who happened to be in the area, stopped to assist the other officer. Gallagher is 36-years-old and a nine-year-veteran of the force. While they attempted to take Deatelhauser into custody, Gallagher was stabbed in the shoulder. He was taken to St. Lukes for treatment. His injuries are non life-threatening.

Earlier this week, Philadelphia-native Patti LaBelle, aka the Godmother of Soul, was honored with a street naming ceremony in Center City. A portion of Broad Street between Spruce and Locust is known as Patti LaBelle Way. During the ceremony, LaBelle signed and held up a replica of the new street sign. Everything about that sign is correct. Unfortunately, the actual signs installed by the Streets Department were misspelled. They say â€œPatti Labelle Way,â€ missing the capital â€œB.â€ They are working to get it corrected.
