Sea Isle Marina Fire Contained; Woman Shot/Killed in Deli; Man Shot 18 Times in East Germantown

Fire broke out near a bait and tackle shop in Sea Isle City on Sunday afternoon, 6/16. It happened around 12:30 p.m. on the 300 block of 43rd Place. Fire started in a shed near Two Chums, a bait, tackle and boat rental shop. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames and thick black smoke, which could be seen from all over the island. Neighboring residences were evacuated. Fire crews from Ocean City, Seaville, Avalon, Strathmere and Ocean View fire departments and the Cape May County Fire Marshalâ€™s Office responded. The fire spread to a fuel tank and a commercial fishing boat. The fire was contained by 1 p.m. Two people suffered minor injuries.

A woman was shot and killed inside of a North Philadelphia deli on Saturday afternoon, 6/15. It happened around 1:30 p.m. at the CBM Deli at the corner of Ridge and Cecil B. Moore Aves. There was some sort of argument that led to shots being fired into the store from the Cecil B Moore side. 38-year-old April Coleman, a mother of five, was not involved in the argument. She was struck in the head by a bullet. She was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where she died. The weapon was not found at the scene. Police did take a person of interest into custody and are working to identify the shooter.

Philadelphia Police are looking for a gunman who shot and killed a man in East Germantown early Sunday morning. It happened after 1 a.m. on the 500 block of East Walnut Lane near Chew Ave. Police responded to 911 calls and found the 24-year-old victim in the street. He had been shot 18 times. He was taken to Einstein Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police found 40 shell casings at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
