A man has pled guilty to causing a crash that killed a father and his four daughters in New Castle County, DE, last July. Alvin Hubbard III pled guilty to five counts of operation of a motor vehicle causing death, one count of second-degree vehicular assault, and a third-degree count of vehicular assault. On July 6th, 2018, Hubbard was operating his pickup truck in "a criminally negligent manner." He was driving south on Rt 1 in Townsend when he crossed over the grass median. He first struck a passenger car but continued southbound in the northbound lanes until he collided with the family's minivan. 61-year-old Audie Trinidad, and his four daughters - 20-year-old Kaitlyn, 17-year-old Danna, and 13-year-old twins Melissa and Allison - were pronounced dead at the scene. Their mother, 53-year-old Mary Rose Ballocanag, survived the crash. Test results showed that Hubbard did not have drugs or alcohol in his system at the time. He will be sentenced in September. He faces 14 years in prison.

Keith Garner, accused of killing four people in a West Philadelphia basement during the sale of a drug stash, had his murder charges upheld at a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, 6/4. Jahlil Porter and Robert Long are also charged with homicide in the case, but they waived their preliminary hearings. A fourth man was charged with murder, but now only faces drug and conspiracy counts. It happened in November 2018. Stepbrothers, 31-year-old William Taylor and 28-year-old Akeem Mattox, found a stash of drugs in a house they were renovating. Things went sour when they tried to sell the drugs. Two sisters, 20-year-old Tiyaniah Hopkins and 17-year-old Yaleah Hall, were with the brothers at the time. All four were led to the basement and killed.

Rescue crews were able to free a man who was trapped for three hours in a trench in Chester County on Wednesday afternoon, 6/5. It happened around 2 p.m. at Norwood Road and Beech Street in Uwchlan Township. Workers were laying sewer lines when the earth gave way and trapped one of the men. He was 10 feet down in the trench and stuck up to his waist. A vacuum truck was able to suck away the dirt. He was freed around 5 pm. The man was taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
