Sea Isle Police Search for Suspect; Narcan Used on NJ Bus Driver After Crash; PA Veteran's Hat Found

Sea Isle City Police are asking the public's help in identifying a person wanted for aggravated assault at a bar last weekend. It happened around 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, 2/16, inside the La Costa Lounge located at 4000 Landis Ave. The assault left the victim unconscious. The suspect is described as a white male, slim build, approximately 6ft in height with short brown hair. He was wearing a light green jacket, dark pants, and black with white Vans shoes. Any one that witnessed this assault or may have information into the identity of the suspect can contact the Detective Bureau at (609) 263-4311.

A New Jersey school bus driver transporting special needs children had to be revived with the opioid overdose reversal drug Narcan after she crashed the bus into a tree. It happened around 1 p.m. Wedneday, 2/20, near the intersection of 14th Avenue and Jones Street in Newark. The accident was caught on video. It shows the bus slowly moving across the street in front of traffic before jumping the curb and hitting a tree. There were 12 children on board ages 5 to 13 from the 14th Avenue School. The children were not hurt. 57-year-old Lisa Byrd of Newark was charged with a dozen counts of child endangerment, driving while impaired, and having drug paraphernalia.

A Pennsylvania veteran turned to social media after losing his Veteran's cap on an airplane flight earlier this month. John Armao Reber posted a picture of his hat from the USS Hornet VS-37 Squadron covered in pins to Facebook on Monday, February 18th (pictured below). He had misplaced the 45-year-old hat on a Spirit Airlines flight from Orlando to Philadelphia on February 1st. His post was shared over 250,000 times. On Wednesday, 2/20, Spirit flight attendant Catherine Edwards, of Dallas, Texas, contacted Reber to tell him that she found his hat and would be mailing it back to him. Reber served from 1966-67.
