A man is in the hospital following an accident while climbing a statue on Eakins Oval on Tuesday afternoon, 1/1. It happened around 4 p.m. on the 2600 block of Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The unidentified 21-year-old man was climbing around the Washington Monument fountain. He scaled one of the deer statues on the outside of the fountain. He then slipped and fell on the antlers, impaling his left side. Police say he was conscious and alert while being taken to Hahnemann Hospital. He was treated for a laceration and is in stable condition. He may have been trying to take pictures.

A 17-year-old boy died on Tuesday, New Year's Day, after an unspecified incident at a Pocono ski resport. It happened around 11:30 a.m. on 1/1 at Blue Mountain Resort in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. The teen suffered an undisclosed injury in an accident and was taken to Palmerton Hospital where he died. The county coroner has taken over. The incident is under investigation.

UPDATE:The teenager who died on Tuesday, 1/1, at Blue Mountain has been identified as 17-year-old Connor Golembiewski of Flemington, New Jersey. Golembiewski suffered multiple blunt force injuries after falling 37 feet from a chairlift onto rocks below. It has been ruled an accident.

A South Jersey man is asking for help finding the owner of a lost wedding ring he found down the shore several months ago. Mike Delaney found it on the street on 96th Street between 2nd and 3rd avenues in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. He was recently cleaning out his car and realized it was a wedding ring. It's described as "a very simple silver wedding band" with the inscription "Marian and Jack 12-19-53." Contact Mike on Twitter for more information.
