Philadelphia Police are investigating after four people were found shot execution style in the basement of a home in Southwest Philadelphia. The discovery was made on Monday, 11/19, shortly after noon on the 5100 block of Malcolm Street after officers were called by a relative to do a welfare check. The two men and two women were each shot once in the head. "Sadly, all four of these individuals were executed, there's no ifs, ands, or buts about it," Police Commissioner Richard Ross said. He also said there didn't appear to be a struggle and that it looked like they went down the basement on their own. A neighbor heard bangs on Sunday night, but thought it was related to ongoing renovation at the property. Police are working on identifying the victims. The investigation is ongoing.
UPDATE: Two of the victims were cousins. Three of the victims were not wearing any clothes. Police have identified three of the victims, a 31-year-old male, a 28-year-old male, and a 20-year-old female.
A New Jersey woman who along with her ex-boyfriend and a homeless man used GoFundMe to scam 1,000s claims that she was duped and used as part of the scheme. Kate McClure's attorney James Gerrow appeared on "Good Morning America" Monday morning, 11/19, and released an audio recording made by McClure this September. The recording supposedly contains a conversation between McClure and her ex-boyfriend Mark D'Amico. McClure accuses D'Amico of "starting the whole thing" and making her "lie on TV." However, later in the recording McClure admits to spending the money.
McClure: "You started the whole (expletive) thing. You did everything. I had no part in any of this, and I'm the one (expletive) taking the fall."
D'Amico: "You don't go to jail for lying on TV, you dumb (expletive)."
McClure: "You heard what he said. If this turns into a criminal thing."
D'Amico: "You don't go to jail for lying on TV."
McClure: "But who made me lie on TV?"
D'Amico: "Who cares?"
D'Amico: "How much did you spend in Cali? $2,500? (Unintelligible) $3,700. So just right there is $40,000. Now you wanna talk about everything else? You act like you didn't spend a dollar. Stop it."
McClure:"I'm not acting like that."
D'Amico:"Stop it. Just stop it. Just stop it."
McClure:"I'm not acting like that. I never said that I didn't spend a dollar."
A Taiwanese exchange student that threatened to shoot up his Delaware County high school was sentenced today in federal court in Philadelphia. An-Tso "Edward" Sun was attending Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill. In March, he told another student not to come to school on May 1st because he was planning to shoot up the school. He added that he was kidding, but the other student still reported it. Authorities searched his bedroom at his host family's house and discovered ammunition, a cross bow, and other accessories. Sun had plead guilty in June to making terroristic threats and sentenced to time served. He was then handed over to federal authorities. Sun was then charged with felony possession of ammunition while in the country on a non-immigrant visa. He plead guilty in August. Today, 11/19, U.S. District Judge Nitza Quinones-Alejandro sentenced him to time served and ordered his deportation. Sun's parent's happen to be A-list celebrities in Taiwan, actor and assistant film director Sun Peng and actress Di Ying.

Villanova Men's Basketball has dropped out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since December 2013. They have spent the past 78 weeks ranked at least No. 17. The defending national champs began the 2018-2019 season ranked No. 8. This past week they got blown out 73-46 by Michigan in a rematch of last year's title game. On Saturday, they lost 76-68 to unranked Furman in overtime. Villanova hasn't lost two games in a row since the 2012-2013 season.
