Suspects Wanted in Instagram Stabbing Prank; 2 Guilty in Ridley Hockey Brawl; Red Paw Gear Stolen

Philadelphia Police are looking for suspects wanted in a prank that terrorized a restaurant in University City on Tuesday night, 11/13. It happened at Terakawa Ramen at 125 South 40th Street. The prank was caught on video and posted to Instagram. As people were dining in the crowded restaurant, one man runs in wearing a 'blood- covered' t-shirt screaming for help. The second man follows closely behind also screaming and 'attacks' the first man, acting as if he is stabbing him. Terrorized patrons either ducked for cover or ran out of the restaurant. Police say they will be charged with risking a catastrophe and false reporting. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.

A jury in Norristown, Montgomery County, deliberated for 11 hours and reached a mixed verdict for three men who faced charges for an on-ice hockey brawl in 2017. All three are former Ridley High School hockey players. Jake Cross and Brock Anderson were found guilty of conspiracy and simple assault. Ryan Gricco was found not guilty of conspiracy, but the jury deadlocked on the charge of simple assault. The incident happened March 9th, 2017, at the Hatfield Ice Arena in Montgomery County with 7 minutes left in a quarterfinal game in the Flyers Cup tournament between Ridley and Central Bucks West. CB West was leading Ridley 7-1. Prosecutor John Gradel had said, "When the puck was dropped none of the players from Ridley made a move for the puck, all they did was start throwing punches." Defense attorneys argued that 'fighting is part of the game', however, fighting is not allowed in high school hockey and any offense leads to a suspension. Cross and Anderson were sentenced to one year of probation and 100 hours of community service. The prosecution has not yet decided if they will retry Gricco on the charge of simple assault.

Jennifer Leary of Red Paw Emergency Relief Team posted on Twitter asking for the public's help after the cargo unit on their response vehicle was stolen last week. Leary said that it was taken sometime between Friday afternoon, 11/9, and Saturday morning, 11/10. It was parked out front of Engine 22 on Comly Road in Northeast Philadelphia. The thieves took the entire brand new cargo unit, brackets and all. Inside were brand new respirators purchased with a grant. Leary's personal bunker gear, firefighter jacket/pants etc., was also inside and has been with her since fire academy 12 years ago. She hopes maybe that was discarded and someone will come across it somewhere. Red Paw was founded 8 years ago. They respond to fires and other emergencies to provide support and services to animals and pets and their families. They work alongside Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management, the Philadelphia Fire Department, the American Red Cross, and other public and private disaster relief organizations. http://www.redpawemergencyreliefteam.org
