Gladwyne Mansion Destroyed in Explosion; Willey Farms Burns Down; Woman Pushed Child Down Stairs

Officials are investigating after a large home exploded in Gladwyne, Montgomery County, on Sunday evening, 11/4. It happened around 8 p.m. on the 600 block of Dodds Lane. The 8,000 sq ft. mansion was undergoing extensive renovations at the time and the family was staying in a carriage house on the property. The large explosion destroyed the home, leveling about 75% of the structure. The boom could be heard and felt all across the area with reports from Northeast Philadelphia and Cherry Hill, NJ. No one was injured. The ATF and state fire marshal will be assisting in the investigation. They believe that the cause of the explosion was a gas leak, but they still have yet to determine the cause.

A popular farmer's market in Delaware was destroyed by a four-alarm fire early Monday morning, 11/5. It started around 2 a.m. at Willey Farms on the 4000 block of Dupont Parkway in Townsend, New Castle County. Close to 200 firefighters from all over the area responded to fight the blaze. The cause is being investigated. Willey Farms was built in 1975 by Donald and Irene Willey and has been passed down through the family. The younger generations are running it now and plan to rebuild after this loss. This is a statement from facebook, "Hi Guys. We're all safe. The firefighters tried to save her. They worked real hard. But Willey Farms is gone. From the deli thru to the greenhouse. Produce. Natural Foods. Home Accents. She's all gone. We don't know where to start really. Kinda numb right now. It will be lots of hard heartbreaking work. But she will be built again. We do know that. Thank you for reaching out to us. Thank you for being our customers and friends for 43 years. Thank you so much. Thank you for your continued prayers and thoughts."

A Chester County woman is under arrest after she pushed her 5-year-old daughter down the stairs, killing her, on Halloween. 25-year-old Ciara Robinson is charged with third-degree murder in the death of Amatulah "Amy" McLaughlin. Parkesburg Borough Police responded to the 400 block of Walnut Street on October 31st around 9:45 p.m. The child had been dead for some time when they arrived. Officials say that Robinson became angry and pushed Amy down the 8-9 ft. basement stairs. Amy hit her head on the concrete landing. Officials say that Robinson told a friend, "I knocked [the victim] out â€¦ She wonâ€™t wake up â€¦ I am going to jail." The autopsy showed she died of blunt force trauma to the head. It also revealed that she had been beaten over a period of time with "extensive bruises, scars, puncture wounds, and strike marks over her arms, legs, and back." Robinson also has a 2-year-old son who is now in protective custody. Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video of three suspects wanted for breaking into cars and stealing items near Temple University last week. Many students woke up Friday morning to find their car windows had been smashed and their vehicles rifled through. Over 40 cars including a food truck were targeted. The video shows three males casing vehicles with a flash light, breaking windows, and then leaning into cars to grab items.
