Teen Arrested in Track Star Shooting; Lightning Sparks Ocean City Car Fire; Hit-And-Run Kills 70yo

Philadelphia Police have arrested a teenager in connection to the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Kristian Marche, a high school track star about to start at Penn State on a scholarship. Police took a 15-year-old boy into custody on Wednesday, 8/22, and are still searching for a second 16-year-old suspect. It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 13. outside of Marche's home on the 1800 block of East Pastorius Street in West Oak Lane. He was shot once in the head and was taken to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. He died the next day. Marche recently graduated from Imhotep Institute Charter High School where is ran track and played football. He was also part of a group called Focused Athletics which helps inner-city student athletes with academics, athletics, and professional development. Police do not have a motive in the case.

A lightning strike down the shore on Tuesday night, 8/21, caused a car to catch fire. It happened around 11 p.m. on 27th Street near Asbury Avenue. Lightning struck a telephone pole causing wires to fall on top of a parked car. The vehicle quickly became engulfed in flames. Fire crews were able to put it out before it caused much damage to the surroundings. No one was injured.

Police in Bucks County are searching for a hit-and-run driver that struck and killed an elderly man on Tuesday night, 8/21, in Levittown. It happened around 9:15 p.m. on the 8800 block of New Falls Road. 70-year-old Emmanuel Weintraub left JoJoâ€™s Ice Cream & Water Ice and began to cross the street back to his parked car when he was hit. It was raining at the time. The car is described as a dark (blue or black) sedan with tinted windows. It is missing the right front hubcap and would have damage to the windshield and front end. Surveillance cameras nearby caught an image of the car, see photo below. The ice cream store posted on their Facebook page that the man walked with a cane and had been a regular customer. There was a fundraiser last night and the parking lot was full so he parked across the street.
