9yo Shot in Home By Stray Bullet; 24 Injured in Multi-Bus Crash; Woman Impaled by Umbrella at Shore

Police are investigating after a 9-year-old girl was killed by a stray bullet while inside her home in Cumberland County early Tuesday morning, 7/17. Gunfire broke out around 12:30 a.m. at Elmer and Walnut Streets in Brigeton, NJ. Several parked vehicles were hit by the gunfire. 9-year-old Jennifer Trejo was inside her home about a block away and was struck by a bullet that came through the rear wall. She was taken to Inspira Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arriving. Police are asking for the public's help with any information. There is a $10,000 reward. Around two dozen people were injured on Monday afternoon, 7/16, in an accident involving multiple school buses in Burlington County, NJ. It happened after 4 p.m. at Tuckerton Road and Lenape Trail in Medford. Five buses transporting campers from the JCC Camp were involved a chain reaction accident and rear ended each other. 24 individuals were injured. That includes 21 children, 2 bus drivers, and 1 staff member. They were taken to Virtua Voorhees and Virtua Mount Holly hospitals and treated for minor injuries. The remaining sixty-seven campers and 10 staff members were taken off the buses and taken back to the JCC Camp on other buses to be reunited with family. The cause of the crash in under investigation.

A London woman visiting the Jersey shore was impaled by an umbrella on Monday afternoon, 7/16. 67-year-old Margaret Reynolds was on the beach in Seaside Heights when a beach umbrella pierced her right ankle. The force of the wind caused the damage. Firefighters used bolt cutters to free Reynolds before taking her away in an ambulance. In a statement she said, "It was a beautiful day and a gust of wind blew the umbrella. It was just an accident." Apparently she is in good condition.
