Trump Signs Exec. Order on Separations; Meth Lab in Montco; Bucks County Luring; Hot Dog Hits Fan

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday, 6/20, that will end the separation of children from parents after they cross the US-Mexico border illegally. The new order does not end the 'zero-tolerance' policy that prosecutes all immigrants caught crossing outside border checkpoints. However, families will now be able to remain together while they are detained in custody. Over 2,000 minors have been separated from their families since May. This order does not address the reunification of families already separated. The administration had been getting pressure from both sides of the aisle to do something about the situation. The problem is far from solved. The Justice Department has to answer a variety of legal questions and Department of Homeland Security must address the differences between having adults and children in custody, including length of detention of minors versus parents, conditions/availabilty of facilities, etc.

Four people have been arrested after authorities discovered a mobile meth lab in a Montgomery County apartment complex. Police received a tip about suspicious activity around 3 a.m. Wednesday, 6/20, and responded to the Rolling Hills Apartments on Buchert Road in Sanatoga, Lower Pottsgrove Township. They knocked on the door and talked to four residents inside. They discovered ingredients and equipment used to make methamphetamine. All four were detained and charges are pending the results of the investigation.

Police in Bucks County are investigating several reports of child luring. On Tuesday, a 12-year-old girl reported that a man tried to lure her on Thornridge Drive in Levittown. She was walking along the road when a man in a older model dark grey minivan stopped and asked if she wanted to see his dogs. She said no and got away. On Tuesday night around 10 p.m. at the Wawa located at 10 Davisville Rd. in Warminster another young girl reported being approached by an older man in a possible luring attempt. The girl said he was asking "weird and inappropriate questions." She was able to get the attention of another adult and get away. The man is described as 50 years old, gray hair, balding, and freckled. He was driving a silver or greenish silver newer model car. See the surveillance photo below.

A Phillies fan from Plymouth Meeting brought home a souvenir from Monday night's game vs the St. Louis Cardinals, but I'm sure that Kathy McVay would rather have left the game without the shiner. McVay was seated behind home plate in the middle of the game when the Phillie Phanatic came onto the field riding in the hot dog launcher. Those are real hot dogs, but are wrapped in duct tape so they don't blow apart upon launch. One of the mini missiles got shot in McVay's direction, but she couldn't move to catch it due to a shoulder injury set for surgery next week. The hot dog hit her square in the face, knocking off her glasses. She had to get a CAT scan to rule out a concussion, which was negative, but she's left with a pretty good black eye. McVay is a good sport about it too. She does not plan to sue, only wants to warn fans to stay alert. The Phillies reached out to offer their apologies and say the Phanatic feels horrible. They also will send her tickets to a future game. No one has ever been hurt by a hot dog before at Citizens Bank Park.
