Deadly NJ School Bus and Truck Crash; Keswick Theatre Vandalism, Tomi Lahren; 6yo Finds Cocaine Bag

Two people were killed and dozens were injured when a school bus carrying 5th graders collided with a dump truck in North Jersey on Thursday morning, 5/17. It happened around 10:20 a.m. on Route 80 near exit 25 in Mount Olive Township, Morris County. The bus was carrying 5th graders from East Brook Middle School in the Paramus School District to Waterloo Village, a historic site, for a field trip. A red dump truck crashed into the school bus as they were traveling westbound on the highway. The bus was sheered off its undercarriage and frame and ended up on its side on the median. A student and an adult chaperone were killed. 45 others were injured. Many were taken to nearby hospitals including Denville Hospital, Dover Hospital, Morristown Medical Center and Hackettstown. The circumstances surrounding the crash are unknown. The New Jersey State Police and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating. The teacher has been identified as Jennifer Williamson-Kennedy. The children were wearing seatbelts in the bus.

Police in Montgomery County are investigating after the Keswick Theatre was vandalized overnight. Someone spray painted the words "NAZIS DIE" on the outside of the theater located in Glenside, Abington Township (see photo below). It was quickly cleaned up by the theater. It is believed the graffiti is in response to Thursday night's show. Fox News contributor and conservative commentator Tomi Lahren is appearing at the Keswick tonight. Lahren responded to the graffiti on Twitter saying, "Truth is the new hate speech. You don't intimidate me! See you tonight, Glenside." Abington Police Chief Patrick Malloy says that there will be extra security in place and police outside the theater tonight. Protests are expected. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Police are investigating after a kindergarten student found a baggie of cocaine in a classmate's backpack and began to chew it thinking it was sugar. It happened on Wednesday morning, 5/16, at Mastery Charter's Hardy Williams Elementary School in Southwest Philadelphia. The teacher saw the 6-year-old girl with the packet in her mouth and stopped her. Luckily, it did not break open. The girl and the other boy were taken to the nurse and police and DHS were called. Both students were determined to not to have ingested the drugs. The rest of the backpacks in the class were also checked. Police don't believe the drugs came from the boy's home and are investigating the source.
