Bill Cosby's sexual assault retrial got off to a rousing start before proceedings even began this morning at the courthouse in Norristown, Montgomery County. As Cosby was approaching the courthouse, a topless protestor jumped the barricade and charged at the entertainer while yelling. She had "Women's Lives Matter" and the names of dozens of Cosby accusers written on her body. Sheriff's deputies caught the woman and led her away in handcuffs. She has been identified as 39-year-old Nicolle Rochelle of Little Falls, New Jersey. Rochelle is an actress and appeared in 4 episodes of "The Cosby Show" as a child between 1990-1992. She is also a member of the European feminist group Femen, which is known for staging topless protests around the world. She was charged with disorderly conduct and released. Today, during opening statements, District Attorney Kevin Steele said that Cosby paid accuser Andrea Constand $3.38 million as part of a 2006 civil settlement.

Philadelphia Police arrested a 12-year-old boy and his 19-year-oldler brother for walking around the street carrying loaded firearms on Saturday night. 15th District Officer Wrzesinski stopped the pair on the 2200 block of Kennedy Street at 6:30 p.m. in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia. The 12-year-old was carrying a loaded AR-15 rifle. The 19-year-old, identified as Michael Mitchell, was carrying a loaded handgun. He was charged with third-degree felony violation of the uniform firearms act- no license, first-degree misdemeanor criminal conspiracy, first-degree misdemeanor terroristic threats, first-degree misdemeanor violation of the uniform firearms -on street, first-degree misdemeanor corruption of minors, first-degree misdemeanor reckless endangerment of another person and violation of the uniform firearms. The brothers allegedly had a disagreement with the neighbors across the street and pointed the weapons at them in a threatening manner. The AR-15 legally belonged to the 19-year-old. The handgun belonged to their mother, but was taken from a locked box. The police tweeted, "Parents: make sure your weapons are secured!"

One of the victims of Friday's junior hockey team bus crash in Saskatchewan, Canada, has ties to our area. 20-year-old Jaxon Joseph was one of the 15 people killed on the bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos team to a playoff game in Nipawin when they were hit by a tractor-trailer. 14 others were injured. Jaxon's father, Chris Joseph, had a long career in the NHL and AHL as a defenseman. He was a member of both the Philadelphia Flyers and Phantoms between 1997-99.
