Deadly Crash In Atlantic County; THON Raises Over $10 Million; FL. Teens Set March For Gun Control

Police in Atlantic County, New Jersey are investigating a deadly crash that happened Sunday morning. The crash took place at around 8:30 am on Sunday on US Route 206 close to the intersection of Union Road. Police say that a 25-year-old driver was attempting to pass a car in the southbound lanes and ended up in the northbound lanes. The car then crashed head on with a pickup truck driven by 67-year-old Joseph Bellace Sr. Bellace was pronounced dead at the scene. The 25-year-old driver and his passenger were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Penn State University held their annual THON dance marathon that raises money to help children and families affected by pediatric cancer. The student's danced for 46 hours in the Bryce Jordan Center located on Penn State's main campus in Happy Valley. This year the students raised $10,151,663.93 for the cause. Since the first THON in 1973, the annual fundraiser has now raised close to $160 million.

Teen survivors of the shooting massacre that happened last week at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida are calling for a march on Washington to demand action on gun control. The "March for Our Lives" demonstration is to be held on March 24th in Washington, as well as other demonstrations to happen in cities around the country. The teen organizers are determined to take political action and make this the turning point in the country's debate over gun control.
