A New Jersey man has been arrested after a meth lab was discovered in his Atlantic City hotel room following a fire on Wednesday morning. 49-year-old Michael Pillar of Whiting has been charged with maintaining a controlled dangerous substance production facility, possession of methamphetamine and criminal mischief. Firefighters responded to a call at 9:45 a.m. on the 44th floor of the Tropicana Casino and Resort. Four floors were evacuated, though the fire was contained to the one room. Once extinguished, firefighters discovered the lab and called in police. Surveillance showed three people flee the room before fire was called. Police tracked those individuals down around 9:30 p.m. on the 2400 block of Pacific Avenue. Two of them were let go with no charges. Pillar had rented the room. He was treated for injuries and remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Federal officials say that a man took a selfie with before snapping off piece of a $4.5 million ancient statue at a Philadelphia museum during a holiday party in December. The FBI says that 24-year-old Michael Rohana of Delaware attended an Ugly Sweater Party at the Franklin Institute on December 21st, 2017. During the party he went into the "Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor" exhibit. It features several terracotta statues from the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China, and are over 2,000 years old. Rohana posed with the one of sculptures known as the "The Cavalryman" and took several selfies before breaking off its thumb. Museum staff noticed it was missing on January 8th and the FBI was able to track Rohana down days later. The museum says it will be repaired. A security contractor failed to follow protocol that night. (see photo below)

The Holiday Inn Stadium Hotel in South Philadelphia is having a large liquidation sale starting today at 10 a.m. The hotel on Packer Ave and 10th Street just north of Citizens Bank Park will be demolished to make way for the new Live!
