The NFL Honors were announced on Saturday night. Former Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins and wide receiver Terrell Owens were both selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. Dawkins played for the Eagles for 13 seasons and was a 9-time Pro Bowler. Both he and Owens were teammates during the Eagles' last Super Bowl appearance in 2005. This was Dawkins' second year on the ballot and Owens' third. They are joined in the 2018 class by Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher. This was their first year of eligibility. The ceremony will be August 4th in Canton.

Several other year end honors were handed out. The FedEx Air Player of the Year is Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz. The Offensive Line of the Year is the Philadelphia Eagles. The AP Coach of the Year goes to Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay. The AP Most Valuable Player is New England Patriots QB Tom Brady. You can see the full list of awards winners on nfl.com.

Lukas Kusters of Wilmington, also known as the "Dutch Destroyer" for his play on the football field, died just days after his 10th birthday in June 2017. Lukas suffered from stomach cancer. He fostered a bond with Eagles QB Carson Wentz. It began with a video message from Carson and then a meeting at Eagles' practice. At the end of the meeting Lukas gave Carson one of his "Dutch Destroyer" bracelets, which the Eagles' QB wore all season. This past week, the Eagles contacted the Kusters family and offered them six tickets to the Super Bowl. They were surprised and grateful. They hopped in the car and drove all the way from Delaware to Minnesota. For more information and to buy a bracelet go to: https://www.dutchdestroyer.org/

Haley Parks of Williamstown, NJ, was in a viral video last week shot by her mother post oral surgery. Haley was still a little out of it from the anesthesia and was talking with cotton swabs in her mouth. She became distraught that she may have missed the Super Bowl and professed her love of the Eagles. In her groggy state, Haley wondered if she could go to the game, but her mom told her it was too expensive. Well on Friday, the Philadelphia Eagles organization reached out and offered her two tickets to the big game. Some last minute scrambling and she and her father found a flight to Minneapolis.
