Murder/Suicide in Radnor; Sibling Died in North Philly Fire; Card Skimming Operation in MontCo

Police in Radnor Township are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after two people were found dead in a home last night. Police responded to the house on the 200 block of Highland Avenue in Wayne after a concerned neighbor called. Mail had been piling up and the residents' cars were parked outside. Officers made entry and found the two dead in the living room. The official cause of death has not yet been determined by the medical examiner but it appears that a 20-year-old male shot and killed a middle-aged female before turning the gun on himself. Police believe the bodies may have been there for a week, but will wait for the official determination from the medical examiner. The identities are being withheld until family is notified. Police say they did respond to this residence on January 8th for a domestic issue but there were no arrests. They do not have any other information about the call.

Despite a quick response from the Philadelphia Fire Department, two siblings living together in their childhood home in North Philadelphia died early Thursday morning in a fire. Deputy Commissioner Jesse Wilson said that Battalion 8 responded to the scene on the 1300 block of West Toronto Street around 12:30 a.m. It only took them a minute and a half to respond. It took another 20 minutes to tackle the flames coming from the first floor. They found a man in his 50s, who was then taken to Temple University Hospital. He was later pronounced dead. The man's older sister was found inside dead. The two lived in the home together for years. He worked and took care of her. It is not clear if there were any smoke alarms. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Police in Montgomery County are investigating after credit card skimmers were discovered in the checkout lanes of two Aldi supermarkets. The skimming devices were found at the Aldi on Armand Hammer Boulevard in Lower Pottsgrove Township and the store at West Ridge Pike and Township Line Road in Limerick Township. Two male suspects have been caught on surveillance cameras installing the device in the checkout line right in front of the clerk. Police believe they may be part of a larger criminal enterprise operating in the Philadelphia area. If you've shopped at these stores, you should check your credit card statements. There have been reports of credit card fraud. Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Pottsgrove Police Department at 610-326-1508 or the Limerick Township Police Department at 610-495-7909.
