An Eagles fan from Whitehall Township has been charged with punching a Philadelphia Police horse over the weekend. Police say that 22-year-old Taylor Hendricks was ejected from the Eagles game on Saturday for being intoxicated and while leaving the game he punched the police horse on the 1100 block of Pattison Avenue. According to police, Hendricks walked up to the mounted officer and began striking the horse in the face, neck, and shoulders. He also hit the officer in the legs. Neither were injured in the assault. He has been charged with aggravated assault, taunting a police animal, simple assault and defiant trespassing. He posted 10 percent of $5,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing on January 30th.

Authorities have reported that the 19-year-old University of Pennsylvania student who was found dead in a California park, had been stabbed nearly 20 times. The suspect in questioning for the murder, 20-year-old Samuel Lincoln Woodward, was taken into custody on Friday after his DNA was linked to the death of Blaze Bernstein. Bernstein was home visiting family in Lake Forest over winter break. During this time Woodward picked him up and drove him to various locations before winding up at the park where he was found dead. Officials say that the suspect and victim knew each other from high school. They are investigating into whether this was an act of rage.

Roads in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs have become filled with potholes after the recent freezing temperatures and sudden warmth and rain. Officials say that the pothole season is early this year and many of the cars driving in Philadelphia are paying the price. City officials say that as of last Friday they filled approximately 1,600 potholes across the city as the warmer weather swept the area and began to cause problems on the roads. Authorities ask that if you see an untreated pothole to contact 311 to give a location of the pothole.
