The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Atlanta Falcons 15 - 10 in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs late Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia. The Eagles were seeded #1 and had a First Round bye after finishing the regular season 13 - 3. However, they were without their MVP candidate QB Carson Wentz who tore his ACL in December. He spent the game on the sidelines in crutches. Nick Foles pulled through in his place completing 23 of 30 for 246 yards and no interceptions. Despite missing a point after attempt, rookie kicker Jake Elliot made three field goals including a 53-yard score to end the first half. The defense held the Falcons to just 10 points and a successful goal line stand with 1:05 left in the 4th quarter sealed the deal. The Philadelphia Eagles will host the NFC Championship next weekend against either the Minnesota Vikings or New Orleans Saints. Game time is Sunday, January 21st, 6:40 p.m. Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16th.

A man is lucky to be alive after he survived a gas explosion in his house on Friday night in Burlington County, NJ. It happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday on the the unit block of Cornell Drive in Delran. The man, who lives alone, was blown out onto the lawn through the side of his house. He only suffered minor injuries and did not go to the hospital. The house has extensive damage. PSE&G crews responded to check the gas lines.

Before New Jersey Governor Chris Christie leaves office on Tuesday, he handed out 25 pardons and commuted the sentence of one woman. The clemency orders were announced on Friday night. The various crimes pardoned included weapons and drug offenses. Christie has commuted the sentence of Lisa Pyatt. Pyatt of Ocean County was convicted of killing her husband in 1993 and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. At trial she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.
