Larry Krasner DA Inauguration; Wildwood Boardwalk Smoking Ban; Man Found Shot In Camden On NYE

Tuesday is the inauguration day for the new District Attorney elect in Philadelphia. Larry Krasner will take the oath of office on Tuesday morning at the Kimmel Center in Center City Philadelphia. Krasner is a long time civil rights attorney. He will be succeeding former DA Seth Williams who resigned from office in June after he plead guilty to corruption charges and is currently serving a 5 year prison sentence. Acting District Attorney Kelley Hodge took over the office in the summer after Seth Williams pled guilty.

A new ban on smoking will now take effect in Wildwood and North Wildwood with the start of the new year. As of Monday, it will now be illegal to smoke on the boardwalks that span through Wildwood and North Wildwood. Both of the cities passed the smoking bans last year and asked people to refrain from smoking until the law went into effect. City officials in Wildwood decided to ban smoking because they believe the boardwalk is susceptible to fires as well as the effects of second hand smoke.

Police are now investigating after a man was found shot multiple times in his car on New Year's Eve in Camden. The man was found on the 600 block of Woodland Street at 10:00 pm on Sunday. Police officers arrived to find 28-year-old Joshua Hernandez with multiple gunshot wounds. Hernandez was then rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. So far there is no word on a motive for the shooting and police are still searching for the suspect or suspects responsible.
