Teen Ordered To Court For Murders; Police Involved Shooting In Germantown, Hit-And-Run Vehicle Found

A teenager has now been ordered to stand trial for the shooting deaths of two teens in October that took place in South Philadelphia. A judge on Wednesday has ordered 16-year-old Brandon Olivieri to stand trial on all charges for the murders of two 16-year-olds, Caleer Miller and Salvatore DiNubile. Both teens were shot outside of DiNubile's home, which is about seven blocks away from Olivieri's house. Investigators say that the victims were on opposite sides of a feud between two groups. Olivieri denies the charges saying that he was very good friends with one of the victims and that there is no motive behind the shooting.

Officials are now investigating a police involved shooting that took place on Wednesday night in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. The shooting happened at the intersection of Nedro and Opal Streets at around 8:40 pm. Police say that two officers in plain clothes spotted a car that was suspected to be connected to a homicide that occurred back on December 21st on the 1800 block of East Atlantic Avenue. The officers went to pull over the vehicle, but upon approaching the vehicle, the suspect ran down one of the officers and then drove off. The driver then ran into two parked cars and the second officer was able to catch up with the suspect. The driver then exited the car with his hand in his pocket. After the officer repeatedly told him to remove his hand, the officers discharged the weapon, hitting the suspect in the head. The officer and the suspect were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center. The officer is listed in stable condition and the suspect is listed in critical condition.

UPDATE: The suspect shot by police passed away Thursday morning at 7:18 a.m.

Police have now identified the victim of a deadly hit-and-run accident that took place on City Avenue on Tuesday. 58-year-old Anthony Rodgers had just exited a bus and was trying to cross the street when he was struck by at car at 10:30 pm. Local surveillance footage caught the suspect in action. Officials say that the suspect's car is described as a red Lexus. A few hours later, police found a red Lexus with a shattered windshield on the 4600 block of North 19th Street. Officers say that there was blood on the outside of the car and it also appeared to be burned a little on the inside. Police are still searching for the driver.
