Daylin Leach To 'step back' From Campaign; Washington Crossing Low River; Man Collapses in Wawa

Pennsylvania State Senator Dalin Leach say he will 'take a step back' from his congressional campaign amid allegations of improper conduct. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has called on Leach to resign after published reports that he behaved inappropriately with female staffers over the years. Wolf stated that the 56-year-old Democrat is "a leader on important policy issues" but said "this conduct cannot be excused." The allegations came from several former campaign and legislative staffers. Leach has been accused of behavior including highly sexualized jokes and comments to touching they considered inappropriate. Leach denies all of the allegations. He was planning on running for the Democratic nomination for a US Congressional seat in 2018.

The annual re-enactment of General George Washington's Crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas Day 1776 may be called off this year because the water level is too low. Re-enactors recreate the scene each year by rowing across the Delaware from Pennsylvania to New Jersey just north of Trenton. Thousands turn out for the historical recreation every year. Unless there is some significant precipitation to raise the water level, the crossing will be scrapped. However, the rest of the festivities will go on at Washington Crossing Park in New Jersey. A man who was shot during a robbery ran to a nearby Wawa for help and collapsed inside. It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday on the 6900 block of Large Street in Northeast Philadelphia. The 25-year-old victim was walking along the street when the suspect pistol whipped him and demanded money. The suspect took the man's cell phone. The victim took off running and the suspect opened fire. He was hit in the shoulder and had a graze wound to the head from the gun. The victim ran into the Wawa at Castor and Tyson Aves. where he collapsed. Someone inside the store called 911. The victim is now in stable condition. Police are looking for surveillance video from the area.
