Teacher Killed In Fire; Philly Dr. Accused Of Sexual Assault ; Applebee's Shooting Suspect Arrested

Philadelphia Police have now identified the woman who died after she was found badly burned in a house fire in Roxborough on Sunday. Local Philadelphia teacher Shelia Hawkins was found in the home and was rushed to Temple University Hospital where she later died from her injuries. The fire broke out just before 8 am on Sunday on the 600 block of Renz Street. Crews were able to get the fire under control by 8:10 am. Hawkins was a beloved 3rd grade school teacher at Shawmont Elementary School.

A well-known neurologist, who already has been charged with groping patients in a clinic in Philadelphia has now received more accusations from patients in three states. 17 women from Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey have now accused Dr. Richard Cruciani of sexual assault. The women say he used his reputation to trap women in a long term doctor-patient relationship that led to unwanted physical contact. Cruciani specialized in relieving pain for those suffering syndromes that produce debilitating pain. Cruciani was the former chairman of neurology at Drexel University, but was fired after he sexually assaulted seven patients. As the case begins, the accusers and their lawyers want to know whether Cruciani had any type of supervision and if he could have been stopped sooner.

New Jersey Police have now placed a suspect into custody who was wanted for a deadly shooting at an Applebee's on Route 1 in Lawrence Township. Members of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 27-year-old Noel Powell III in Trenton at around 2:30 pm on Sunday. The shooting took place at the Applebee's located on the 3330 block of Brunswick Pike. Police say Powell entered the restaurant this past Tuesday and shot 23-year-old Devin Smith in the head as he was seated at the bar. Powell then fled the scene. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Powell is now being charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is currently being held at The Mercer County Correction Center.
