KOP Shooting Suspect Identified; Search For Local Serial Robber; Terror Attack In NY

Upper Merion Police have now charged and identified the robbery suspect who was shot by police at the King of Prussia Mall on Sunday. 23-year-old Kalin Jackson was shot at around 4 pm on Sunday in the parking garage near Gulph Road and Mall Boulevard. Jackson was wanted by police for allegedly jumping in the back seat of a woman's car at the mall, putting a gun to her head and demanding her purse. Police say that Jackson rammed two cop cars with his car and then tried to run down officers who were on foot. This is when police opened fire on Jackson, injuring him. Jackson is now being charged with robbery, firearms offenses and other related charges.

The FBI, Bensalem, Upper Moreland, and Phoenixville Police are now asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in a string of robberies. Police believe that 40-year-old Peter James Harkins III is responsible for Sunday's robbery of a Phoenixville Pizza Hut, as well as Monday's Dominos robbery in Willow Grove and Tuesday morning's robbery of a Santander Bank in Bensalem. Police say that in all three robberies Harkins implied to the victims that he had a gun and waived a concealed object at the employees. Anyone with information on Harkins' whereabouts are asked to contact the FBI (215-418-4000).

8 people were killed and 11 were seriously injured in a vehicle attack near the World Trade Center Memorial in New York City on Tuesday. The New York Police Department stated that the driver, 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov, rented a Home Depot truck and drove it onto a lower Manhattan bike path for around 14 blocks before slamming into a small yellow school bus. Once he hit the school bus, he got out from the car with what turned out to be 2 fake guns in his hands. Police then opened fire on him, hitting him in the abdomen. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called the incident "a particularly cowardly act of terror."
