String Of Robberies In Fairmount; Man Stabbed/Killed In West Oak Lane; KOP SEPTA Proposal

Philadelphia Police are now searching for a suspect that is reportedly responsible for a string of armed robberies that have taken place in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia. Police believe it is one suspect. The description is the same for each robbery as well as the way he approaches his victims when he robbed them. The first robbery took place on Sunday at 8 pm on the 2200 block of Brown Street, then police say the suspect struck again on the 2500 of Poplar Street 40 minutes later. The suspect struck a third time on Tuesday on the 800 block of N. 25th Street just after midnight and then again minutes later on N. 27th Street. The suspect is described as a black man, 5'9", thin build, in his late 20s or early 30s, with short black hair and some facial hair.

Philadelphia Police are now investigating after medics found a stabbing victim with knife in his back in front of a West Oak Lane home. The 42-year-old man was found lying on the front steps of a home with a knife in his back on the 6400 block of North 20th Street just after 11:30 pm. The man was not from the home. Several people were inside of the home at the time. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. Police have now located surveillance cameras at a nearby high school. They hope this will be able to help out in the case.

SEPTA officials are holding a second public hearing to extend the Norristown High Speed Line into King of Prussia. The second round of hearings will be held next month to discuss the four-and-a-half mile long track that will connect the Norristown High Speed Line to the King of Prussia Mall and the corporate center. It is estimated to cost around $1.2 billion, and the entire length of the track will have to be elevated 17 feet in the air. Two meetings are scheduled so far, one at the Double Tree in King of Prussia on Monday November 13th at 2pm and 6 pm. Another meeting will take place on Wednesday November 15th. A series of public information sessions will be held in Upper Darby as well as King of Prussia and Philadelphia.
