Most Monroe Township Schools to Reopen; 2 More Players Cut from Albright Team; Man Charged Shooting

Most schools in the Monroe Township School District in New Jersey will reopen on Tuesday according to the school district superintendent. All six district schools were closed this week to test for mold after Holly Glen Elementary School was closed last week to undergo extensive mold testing and cleaning. Holly Glen will remain closed for at least a few more weeks. Whitehall Elementary will also not reopen on Tuesday. Radix Elementary School, Oak Knoll Elementary School, Williamstown High School, and Williamstown Middle School will be open. Two more players have been cut from the Div III Albright College football team for going against the "teamâ€™s shared commitment to unity." Prior to last Saturday's game, players decided to kneel during the coin toss and stand for the national anthem. Backup QB Gyree Durante was cut from the team earlier this week because he chose to go against the rest of the team and also kneel during the anthem. In this latest case, the two players "did not fully kneel when the team kneeled." College President Jacquelyn Fetrow said that when examining last week's game, they found that two players did not kneel with the rest of the team during the coin toss. She said, "As before, these actions represent a failure to comply with team decision, actions which carry consequences." A man has been charged in the shooting a 16-year-old boy in Northeast Philadelphia. 18-year-old Muhammed Goode of the 2200 block of Vincent Street is charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder. It happened around 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday on the 2100 block of Magee Avenue during a fight. Messiah Chiverton, a junior at Frankford High School, was shot multiple times in the head. He currently clings to life on life support but his chances are small. Goode was arrested by a police officer who witnessed the shooting and chased him down.
