Double Shooting In Strawberry Mansion; Distraction Scheme In Bucks Co.; Man Charged for Pipe Bombs

Philadelphia Police are now investigating a double shooting that took place in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia. The shooting took place on the 1800 block of North 33rd Street at around 8:30 pm. Police say that a 32-year-old man was shot in the head while sitting in his car, he was sent to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. A man in his 20's was also shot in his left shoulder and lower hip. He was later taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are still investigating into the shooting.

Police in Bucks County are now warning residents in the area after a man was a victim in a distraction burglary scheme. A 78-year-old man was outside of his home in Perkasie on Tuesday, when a woman approached him claiming she was with a tree service. She began asking the man a series of questions, which lasted around 20 minutes. Police say that during this conversation, the woman's accomplice snuck inside the man's house and stole items from his office including multiple envelopes of cash. Police describe the woman as a Hispanic woman in her mid 30's. The man said she approached him wearing a fluorescent green hat and matching shirt. Police are reminding people to keep an eye on their doors and even to lock it to be extra careful.

Philadelphia Police have now charged a man responsible for the pipe bomb scare that took place in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia on Wednesday. 34-year-old Sam Chey was placed into police custody after the incident on Tuesday. Philadelphia's Sheriff's Department was serving an evection notice at the home, when they discovered the two pipe bombs. Upon further investigation they also found a disassembled shotgun and handgun. Chey is now being charged with possession of weapons of mass destruction and risking a catastrophe.
