The Democrat candidate running for district attorney in Philadelphia, Larry Krasner, has stated that he would like to install supervised injection clinics where addicts can safely inject themselves with drugs. Krasner stated that many addicts leave their used needles around where children play putting them at risk. The clinics would be a legally sanctioned place where medical professionals would distribute clean needles to addicts and supervise their drug use. The professionals would also connect the addicts to a rehab and other resources.

A former Pennsylvania State Trooper is now accepting the legal responsibility for the shooting deaths of his pregnant wife and newborn daughter. 36-year-old Joseph Miller pled guilty on Thursday to two counts of involuntary manslaughter after his gun discharged while he was cleaning it. The incident happened back in March of 2014, he accidentally shot his pregnant wife, the baby was later delivered but died soon after. Miller's lawyer says that he has resigned from the state police and still maintains custody of the couple's two children. Miller faces up to 5 to 10 years in jail when he is sentenced in the next coming months.

Residents of a South Philadelphia neighborhood have now filed complaints after a group of teenagers on bikes have been causing problems. The incidents have taken place outside of Sharswood School on 2nd and Rittner Streets. A video has been released that shows the kids joking around at first, and then they began to throw rocks. One of the rocks hit a pedestrian and when he came over to confront the teens, they began to heckle him and one of them slapped the man in the back of the head. Other neighbors in the area have said the have seen similar attacks. Police have stated that there are aware of the situation and are going to take care of it.
