Center City Hit-and-Run Photos; Target Store Shooting in Northeast; Police Shooting North Philly

Philadelphia Police have released surveillance photos of a suspect and vehicle wanted for a deadly hit-and-run in Center City last Sunday. It happened around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 6th near Broad and Race Streets. 53-year-old Ann Broderick, a homeless woman, was struck by a white four-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with black fenders. The driver sped off after the accident. Broderick was found by a security guard and rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The vehicle probably has front end and passenger side damage. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.

Police are investigating after a man was shot outside of a Target store in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday afternoon. It happened in the parking lot of the store on the 7400 block of Bustleton Avenue in the Rhawnhurt section around 3:30 p.m. There was an argument that grew into a fight among a group of men in the front of the store and just outside in the lot. Employees and shoppers moved towards the back of the store. That's when they heard a handful of shots and saw the victim stumble back in through the front door and fall to his knees. The man in his late 20's was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital in critical but stable condition. Everyone remained in place until SWAT cleared the store. Police believe the shooter fled in a red Hyundai Sonota. Police will be looking at surveillance video from the store. No arrests have been made.

A suspect was shot and killed by police in North Philadelphia on Friday afternoon during a struggle with officers. It happened around 5 p.m. in the 3100 block of Darien St. in North Philadelphia. Police were called to the scene by a woman reporting someone breaking into her car. The suspect, identified by family as 31-year-old Tyrease Carlye, engaged with one officer and attempted to get his weapon. A second officer tried to help subdue Carlye and he went to grab that officer's weapon. That's when other officers opened fire and shot the suspect. Carlye was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
