Haverford Suspect ID'd, Vehicle Found; Man Climbs City Hall Video; NJ Bail Lawsuit

Authorities have recovered a vehicle believed to belong to the suspect wanted for killing a man in Haverford Township and opening fire on an Overbrook street over the weekend. A grey 2004 S60 Volvo was towed away by police from the 5100 block of Locust Street in West Philadelphia on Tuesday morning. Police have identified the man and have search warrants for the car and addresses connected to him. He has been identified as 24-year-old Derek Rollins and remains at large. The other address is on the 4000 block of North A Street.

Late Saturday afternoon, the suspect fired 17 shots at 77th and Sherwood in Overbrook after being confronted by two neighbors for looking into windows. No one was injured and the two neighbors fled in their vehicle into neighboring Montgomery County. Rollins followed in his car but lost them. About 45 minutes later, he shot and killed 29-year-old John Le outside an apartment on the 2300 block of Haverford Road in Haverford. The suspect was captured on surveillance footage running away. Tips have helped police identify the vehicle which led them to Rollins. He is considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information contact police.

A man named Carson King posted a video to YouTube on Sunday showing him climbing to the top of City Hall's iconic tower in Philadelphia. It begins with him scaling an external ladder on the building to a lower roof before he enters the clock tower through an external door. He then makes his way up through the middle by climbing wooden steps. King eventually emerges again at the bronze feet of William Penn. He takes a few photos and heads back down. The exact date is unknown, but the scaffolding for cleaning was in place like earlier this year. King says, "I climbed the famous Philadelphia city hall clock tower while it was under construction. I believe that this is the only video you will ever see of someone doing this and I went up by myself. This city hall is the largest city hall building in the country... I do not destroy or vandalize any of the places I explore. I go to video and take pictures because it is what i love to do." City spokesman Mike Dunn said, "Weâ€™re extremely concerned by this video. What this person did was dangerous and illegal. The scaffolding is now down, but Philadelphians should be aware of the extreme risk they pose to their personal safety if they engage in activity like this." See video below.

The former star of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" was in New Jersey yesterday speaking out against the state's new bail guidelines. Duane "Dog" Chapman spoke at a press conference in Trenton outside the federal court building during the announcement of a wrongful death lawsuit. The family of 26-year-old Christian Rodgers of Millville is suing the state including Gov. Chris Christie and state Attorney General Christopher Porrino. Rodgers was shot and killed while walking down the street in April by 30-year-old Jules Black. Black had been arrested days earlier on gun charges but released under the new bail rules. He is now charged with murder and remains in custody. The reforms were meant to keep violent offenders and those with flight risk in jail pre-trial and allow poor, low-level offenders who otherwise couldn't afford bail a chance to remain free.
