Lawyer says: Cosmo DiNardo Confessed to Murder of 4 Missing Bucks County Men

Late this afternoon the attorney for the person-of-interest in the case of four missing Bucks County men announced that his client confessed to their murders. Attorney Paul Lang said that 20-year-old Cosmo DiNardo told authorities that he participated in or committed the murders of Jimi Patrick, Tom Meo, Dean Finocchiaro, and Mark Sturgis. DiNardo also told police where the bodies were located. In exchange, he will not face the death penalty. "Mr. DiNardo, this evening, confessed to the district attorney. He confessed to his participation or commission of the murders of the four young men. In exchange for that confession, Mr. DiNardo was promised by the district attorney that he will spare his life by not evoking the death penalty," said Lang. When DiNardo was brought outside to the transport van he told reporters, "I'm sorry."

A person with firsthand knowledge of the confession spoke to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity. They said that a co-conspirator was involved in the deaths of three of the men. They also said that the men were killed separately after drug transactions gone wrong. DiNardo sold marijuana to the victims and either felt cheated or threatened after each separate sale. He then shot each of the men, burned the bodies, and disposed of them on the family's farm on Upper Mountain Road in Solebury Township.

UPDATE: 7/13 11:30 pm - A second person-of-interest has been taken into custody this evening at a home on the 800 block of Magee Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia. He is being held at Northeast Detectives for Bucks County officials to question. No charges have been filed.

Last night at a midnight press conference, Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub announced that they recovered human remains from a 12.5 foot ditch dug by police on the farm property. So far, they have only been able to identify the body of 19-year-old Dean Finocchiaro. They are working on identifying the rest of the missing men. Hopefully now, with the cooperation of DiNardo, authorities will be able to locate and identify 22-year-old Mark Sturgis, 21-year-old Tom Meo, and 19-year-old Jimi Patrick.
