Police Investigating Injured Suspect; Search For Young Thieves; Phila. Airport Workers Strike

Philadelphia Police are now launching an investigation after a man was injured while being placed in police custody. A video shows police placing the suspect, Kevin Roviro, into handcuffs. But a second video, taken on a cellphone by a bystander, shows Roviro being slammed to the ground by an officer, as other officers tried to keep the surrounding crowd at bay. The officers were arresting Roviro in connection with a narcotics investigation. Roviro is now said to be in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.

Police are now searching for a group of young thieves who broke into a bowling alley that was attached to Saint Monica's School in South Philadelphia. Local surveillance footage shows suspects inside of the bowling alley located on the 1600 block of West Shunk Street on July 7th and 8th. The first time breaking in the teens stayed inside of the church for around 2 hours. The second day they came in at around 2 pm and didn't leave till later that night. The suspects stole the keys to the entire complex, as well as electronics and other belongings. The suspects also broke into the change machine and other vending machines. Police are now searching for the young suspects. Anyone with any information is asked to contact South Philadelphia Detectives.

Many workers at the Philadelphia International Airport are now planning to go on strike starting Wednesday. Hundreds of workers announced on Tuesday night that they are planning on striking. This workers include wheelchair attendants, baggage handlers, skycaps, cabin cleaners, as well as other workers that are employed by American Airlines' contractors Primeflight and Prospect. The workers have stated they are striking due to contractors refusing to negotiate contract stipulations. Workers are planning on starting their picketing at 11:30 am at B and C departure terminals.
