West Goshen Police have arrested a Delaware County man wanted in the fatal road rage shooting of a recent Bayard Rustin High School graduate last week. 28-year-old David Desper from Trainer, PA, has been charged with first and third degree murder, possession of an instrument of crime, reckless endangering and other offenses. It happened around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday on Rt 100 near Rt 202. Desper, driving a red pickup truck, was trying to merge with 18-year-old Bianca Nikol Roberson of West Chester, driving a green Chevy Malibu. As they vied for position, Desper pulled out a gun and shot Roberson in the head. She drove off the road and into the trees. He continued onto Rt. 202. Emergency responders declared her dead at the scene. Using traffic cameras and other surveillance, authorities were able to track his vehicle and recover it in Glen Mills. They found the .40 caliber handgun used to shoot Bianca in Desper's bedroom. He does have a permit to carry. Desper turned himself in to West Goshen police at 2 a.m. Sunday with his lawyer. He is being held without bail. A preliminary hearing will be held on July 13th.

A gas explosion in Lancaster County killed one person and injured three others, leaving a house completely destroyed. It happened around 12:15 p.m. on the 200 block of Springdale Lane in Manor Township near Millersville. UGI workers responded to a possible gas leak at the home. The residents had been evacuated and Lancaster Township Fire Department was on standby. The crew was working outside when the home exploded. One man in his 50's was pronounced dead at the scene. Three others were taken to Lancaster General Hospital. One worker is in serious condition and the other two are listed in stable condition. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the leak and explosion.

Conductors on SEPTA Regional Rail trains will resume checking tickets on board trains leaving from five central stations during weekday evenings. Last July, because of outages and overcrowding due to the Silverliner car maintenance, conductors stopped checking tickets on the train. Tickets were punched before the platform from 3pm to 7pm at the Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th Street, and University City stations. Starting July 10th, your ticket will still be punched there, but now handed back to you. The conductor will check your ticket on the train to make sure you purchased the right ticket for the appropriate zones.
