Philadelphia officials are now trying to offer an alternative method to giving panhandlers money, in an effort to try and stop the practice in the city. The new project would allow pedestrians to text in donations to homeless services in Philadelphia. Pedestrians will be able to text the word "Share" to 80077 and donate $5 automatically. Mayor Kenney stated that most people feel the need to give change or money directly to the person, but officials say that it can be more effective to helping them by donating the money to the homeless services in Philadelphia. The $5 donation will appear on your phone bill.

The trial against Penn State fraternity members continued on Monday and prosecutors showed video from the night of the party. The video showed 19-year-old Tim Piazza, who was pledging the fraternity, at the party drinking heavily and suffering multiple injuries that went untreated. The district attorney and the detective who was on the stand Monday went through about 3 hours of security footage, showing Piazza going from station to station in the fraternity's "drinking gauntlet." As the night went on, Piazza appeared more shaky, and the video showed him stumbling through the house. Many hours later, Piazza he was found dead in the basement. The trial continues as 18 members of the fraternity face charges.

The jury for the Bill Cosby case deliberated for the 6th day on Monday without reaching a verdict on whether or not the comedian is guilty of sexually assaulting a woman over a decade ago. The jurors received the case at around 5:30 pm and deliberated until around 9 pm on Monday before ending for the day. After 5 days of the prosecution outlining its side, the defense only presented one witness, a detective, with six minutes of a testimony earlier in the day. Cosby did not take the stand in his own defense.
