Delaware County Serial Rapist Charged; DE Police Shoot Philly Man on Run; 91yo Federal Judge Missing

A 19-year-old suspected serial rapist has been arrested and charged in Delaware County for multiple crimes dating bating 3 years. DeJohn Lee of Chester is accused of attacking 9 women in separate incidents in Chester and Chester Township starting when he was 16. He was arraigned today and charged with 2 counts of attempted murder, 6 counts of rape, robbery, aggravated assault, and other related offenses. He was arrested on January 6th by Eddystone police when one of his victims recognized him in a grocery store where she worked and called police. His DNA matched evidence recovered from several of the crimes. Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan said, "This individual would stalk women, he would terrorize women, he would hide, and he would wait for young women to be walking alone." Whelan says that Lee has confessed to the crimes. They believe there could be more victims and ask them to come forward.

A man shot and killed by police in Delaware last night may be the same man who hit an officer and fled the scene hours earlier in Philadelphia. It started at the intersection of 56th and Whitby in Southwest Philadelphia around 5:30 p.m Wednesday. Officers responded to a domestic call with reports of a man trying to drag a woman out of a minivan. He has been identified as 28-year-old Leroy Brown. When officers approached, Brown hit reverse and struck an officer and dragged him several feet. The officer fired once, but Brown fled. The car was found abandoned on the 7600 block of Lindbergh Boulevard. Later, around 7:45 p.m., New Castle County police responded to the Coachman's Manor Apartments on the 100 block of Carriage Way. A police car was hit. Police struggled with the suspect, who was shot. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police from both departments are investigating.

UPDATE: It is confirmed that Brown was involved in both the incident in Philadelphia and Delaware. More details about both incidents are now available. Starting in Philadelphia, Brown was struck by the officer's fire after he reversed and hit the officer with the minivan. Also, unknown to police at the time, there were four children inside the minivan along with the female. Brown ditched that vehicle, stole another, and drove everyone to Delaware where the female lived. In Delaware, Brown tried to flee the scene when officers arrived and slammed into a patrol car. That's when they opened fire.

The U.S. Marshals Services is searching for a missing Pennsylvania judge. (See photo below) 91-year-old Edwin Kosik is one of the longest serving federal judges in Pennsylvania who only stopped hearing cases last month because of health issues. Pennsylvania State Police say he was last seen around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home on Daleville Road in Covington Township in Lackawanna County near Scranton. He is described as 5'8", with gray hair and blue eyes. He drives a gray 2015 Acura RDX with PA registration JNC1450 and damage on the driver's side. He is said to be "at special risk of harm or injury." Kosik was appointed as a federal judge in 1986. He presided over the "kids for cash" case from '09-'11.

UPDATE: U.S. Marshals say that 91-year-old Edwin Kosik was found alive Thursday night about 100 yards from his vehicle in the woods in Dunmore, outside Scranton. He was was conscious and talking. Kosik is apparently suffering from memory problems.
