Shooting At Philly Strip Club; Two Dover Police Officers Die; Tombstones Destroyed in Wissinoming

Philadelphia Police are now investigating a shooting that took place at a gentleman's club in South Philadelphia. The incident happened at around 4:15 am at Club Onyx on the 2900 block of South Christopher Columbus Boulevard on Sunday. The 26-year-old victim told police that she saw an altercation outside, then the suspect walked in the front door and discharged his weapon once through the glass door. The victim suffered multiple cuts to her left shoulder and calf from the shattered glass. The victim was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

Two members of the Dover Police Department died in a car crash that took place on early Sunday morning. The two officers have been identified as 23-year-old Robert DaFonte, a two year veteran of the police force, and 22-year-old Cadet James Watts, a six-month member of the Special Enforcement Cadet Unit. The crash took place at around 4:05 am at Hazletville and Nault Roads in Dover. Both officers were off duty when the crash happened. Police say that DaFonte was driving his Jeep Wrangler with Watts in the passenger seat, when they quickly approached a sharp right run on Hazletville Road. The car then went off the road into an embankment, where it overturned. Watts was thrown from the passenger seat but DaFonte remained in the car. Both were pronounced dead on the scene. Officials are continuing their investigation into the crash.

Police are now investigating after more than 500 tombstones were vandalized at a Jewish Cemetery in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia. The vandalism took place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on Frankford and Cheltenham Avenues. Police were on the scene Sunday morning, after a member of the community found the vandalized tombstones while visiting his father's grave. Police are still unsure if this was a targeted attack. The Mizel Family Foundation as well as the Anti-Defamation League, are offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects responsible.
