Philadelphia Police are now searching for two suspects wanted in connection in a robbery spree in Philadelphia. In one of the robberies, one of the victims fought back. Two of the suspects entered Eagles Corner Store on January 29th at around 9:30. When the suspects started to rob the store, the owner pulled out a gun and began to shoot, hitting one of the suspects. Both suspects fled, but the injured suspect showed up at the hospital where he was arrested. The other suspect fled the hospital and met up with another suspect and continued a spree of robberies. The store owner who fired at the suspects had a permit for his gun and will not face any charges.

A woman's body was found underneath a sleeping bag in the Kensington section of Philadelphia on Tuesday. Police officers arrived on the 3200 block of Kensington Avenue to find the victim's body. The woman is said to be between 30 and 40-years-old, and the cause of death is not known as of yet, but police are treating the case with suspicion. Police stated that a man was taken into custody on Tuesday in possible connection with the woman's death, but have not released any more information on the suspect.

The Pennsylvania State Senate has now passed a bill that would cut off hundreds and millions of dollars in state grants to cities and counties who are considered "sanctuary cities." A sanctuary city is described as a city or county that will only honor the US immigration detention requests when they are accompanied by an arrest warrant. The Republican filled senate passed the bill with 37 votes yes and 12 votes no. The bill does not specify which state agency will determine which municipalities or counties will qualify as sanctuary cities, but as many as 32 counties could qualify.
