Police have now arrested a shirtless man who drove a stolen taxi through Rittenhouse Square on Monday. The suspect apparently assaulted a cab driver and was able to steal the cab and drive off. He then proceeded to drive through Rittenhouse Square and then crashed into a light post on 18th and Walnut Streets. Police were able to quickly apprehend the man and have taken him into Police custody. Police believe the suspect was under the influence and are testing him with a DUI test kit. Officials say that Scalia had given her baby methadone and also rolled onto the baby while she was high on drugs. The baby was found unconscious in Scialia's home and died 5 days later in the hospital. Authorities say that Scalia had possession of 34 bags of heroin and 10 oxycodene pills.

A State Senate committee announced on Monday that they have advanced the legislation to punish Philadelphia and other municipalities that have declared themselves "sanctuary cities." The legislation is one of the controversial bills that are being reintroduced after they were failed to be put it into action before the legislature's previous two-year session ended. The legislation would cut off state grants to municipalities who do not cooperate when they have individuals in city custody that are on a detainer issued by federal immigration authorities. The sponsor of the bill stated that the bill they are advancing is in the interest of public safety.
