A man is now in critical condition after being struck by a car in Northeast Philadelphia on Tuesday night. The incident happened on the 9800 block of Roosevelt Boulevard right near Bowler Street around 7 pm. The man, reported to be in his 40's or 50's, was struck in the northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard. The man was taken to Aria Health Torresdale to be treated, where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the car remained at the scene, it is unclear whether or not he will be charged.

A Philadelphia jury has now found all defendants liable in a civil law suit in the collapse of a building in Philadelphia. The defendants include the owner of the building being demolished, Richard Basciano; architect Plato Marinakos Jr.; the Salvation Army; and the imprisoned contractors. The building collapse happened back on June of 2013 on 22nd and Market Street in Center City, the collapse of the building buried the adjacent Salvation Army building which killed 6 people and injured 13 others. The Salvation Army is also being sued for keeping the store open during the demolition. Two cut-rate contractors who were involved with the demolition are both serving lengthy prison sentences after being charged with involuntary manslaughter. The jurors will return on Wednesday to determine what penalties will be paid to the victims of the collapse.

President Trump announced his nomination for Supreme Court on Tuesday night. Trump nominated conservative Denver Judge Neil Gorsuch, who is expected to spark a fight with Democrats since he could be a court member that could possibly shape America's legal landscape for decades to come. 49-year-old Neil Gorsuch is the youngest Supreme Court nominee in a quarter century. Gorsuch is known for his clear writing, as well as advocacy for court review of government regulations. Trump stated about Gorsuch, "Judge Gorsuch has outstanding legal skills, a brilliant mind, tremendous discipline, and has earned bipartisan support."
