A Philadelphia Police officer has now been cleared by Internal Affairs over an investigation over the officer's tattoo he had on his forearm. A photo was released last September by the Philadelphia Coalition for Real Justice of Officer Ian Hans Lichtermann's tattoo which is an eagle with the word "Fatherland" above it. The coalition stated that the tattoo was a Nazi Insignia. The Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police President John McNesby stated that the officer, of German heritage, got the tattoo to show pride of the German-American Police Association, which uses a similar symbol. He also stated that officer Lichtermann, who is a 17-year veteran of the department, has a perfect record with no disciplinary action ever taken against him. See photo below.

Firefighters are currently investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a multi-story condominium building in the Old City section of Philadelphia. Crews arrived at the building on 2nd and Letitia streets early on Tuesday morning. Many of the residents were evacuated from the building, many of them saying they didn't hear their fire alarm. Their neighbors had to knock on their doors to notify them of the fire. The fire then spread to three other buildings, and it took around an hour for crews to get it under control. Firefighters are still investigating the start of the blaze.

Governor Tom Wolf has now announced that he is asking lawmakers for another $10 million to help save the lives of those overdosing on heroin and prescription opioid drugs. The governor stated that he wants the money to help law enforcement agencies and first responders buy more of the overdose antidote Naloxone. The grants will be available through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Governor Wolf will submit his proposal to the legislature next week. Naloxone has prevented more than 2,300 opioid overdoses since November 2014.
