Hit-And-Run In S. Philly; Suspects In Custody For W. Philly Robbery; New Urgent Care Facility

Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a woman was struck by a car in South Philadelphia. The hit-and-run happened on 2nd and South Street before 2 a.m. on Monday. Police say that a 20-year-old victim was stuck and suffered leg injuries. She was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where she is listed in stable condition. Police are now searching for the driver of the dark SUV spotted fleeing the scene.

Police are investigating a robbery that took place in West Philadelphia on Sunday night. The robbery happened at a Chinese take-out restaurant on 62nd and Spruce Street at around 9:30 pm on Sunday. Police say that two masked and armed men entered the store while the owners were in the store. During the robbery one of the owners pulled out a gun and shot one of the suspects. It is believed that the second suspect drove the wounded suspect to the hospital, where they were placed in police custody. Both suspects are awaiting to charged.

A new urgent care facility has opened up in South Philadelphia. Vybe Urgent Care already has four centers throughout Philadelphia, their newest location opening on Broad Street. The center is designed to bring accessible and affordable health care to Philadelphia residents. The urgent care center stated that they can treat 80 percent of what can be treated in an emergency room. The urgent care center is equipped with seven exam rooms, digital x-rays, and a variety of lab services. Mayor Jim Kenney stated that with the future of universal healthcare up in the air, places like Vybe are much needed in the area.
