President Donald Trump was in Philadelphia today to address Congressional Republicans at their annual retreat. The GOP leaders have been holding their meetings at the Loews Hotel in Center City this week to discuss policy and map out priority legislative plans. Trump discussed his plans for the wall with Mexico, international trade agreements, healthcare reform, and job creation. Outside the hotel and around City Hall hundreds of anti-Trump protesters gathered. There were a variety of messages but most prominently were those protesting a repeal of the Affordable Care Act. The demonstrations were peaceful and no arrests were made. Road and sidewalk closures around the hotel made it difficult for the demonstrations from getting too close to the actual hotel or near the President as he came and went.

Most Reverend Martin N. Lohmuller, retired Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia and Titular Bishop of Ramsbury, died on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 24th at the age of 97. At the time of his death, he was the oldest living Roman Catholic bishop in the United States of America. He died at Saint Joseph’s Manor in Meadowbrook (Montgomery County) Tuesday afternoon following a lengthy illness. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be publicly announced when finalized. Lohmuller was born to the late Martin and Mary (Doser) Lohmuller on August 21, 1919. He grew up in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia and attended the former Saint Henry School in North Philadelphia. Lohmuller attended Northeast Catholic before enrolling in St. Charles Borromeo after his sophomore year. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on June 3, 1944 by Most Reverend Hugh L. Lamb.

Tonight in Bryn Mawr, there will be a benefit concert to help raise awareness and funds for men in recovery and those battling addiction. The event is also a tribute to lives lost from the disease, Ryan Monaghan and Jeremy DeFelice. "Music in Memory: A Tribute to Ryan & Jeremy" will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the New Leaf Club at 1225 Montrose Avenue. There will be live music, hors d'oeuvres and good vibes. Performers include Eric Perez and Chris Waddell. Proceeds benefit The Bridge Foundation and Ryan's House Fund.

Weather
This afternoon, partly cloudy, temperatures in the low 50's in Center City
