Multi-Alarm Blaze In Lehigh County, Philly 9th In Bed Bug Problems, NJ Stalker Appears In Court

Firefighters battled a multi alarm fire that broke out on Tuesday night in Lehigh County. The fire broke out at the Schantz Greenhouse Complex on the 8000 block of Spinnerstown Road in Zionsville. Firefighters from Lehigh, Bucks, Berks, Montgomery, and Northampton counties were all called to the scene to help put out the fire, and some hauled in water tankers. No injuries were reported in the fire, but crews are still investigating.

The city of Philadelphia has now been ranked the ninth worst city in the United States for bed bugs. The Pest Control Company Orkin created a list of cities in the US that suffer the worst from bed bugs. The list was comprised by how many treatments Orkin had to perform to houses and commercial buildings between December 2015 and November 2016. An Orkin official stated, however, that the presence of bed bugs do not deem a place unclean or unhealthy, and that the bugs can appear anywhere including movie theaters or public transportation. Philadelphia was not the only Pennsylvania city on the list, Pittsburgh came in at number 24.

A woman who was accused of cyber stalking a New Jersey family appeared in court on Tuesday. Christine Merlo Kline is being accused of fleeing the law and living in Arizona, where she started a website campaign to get custody of a boy who she thought was her grandson. The family stated that boy they adopted has no relation to Kline, but Kline published hundreds of pages and pictures on her website that showed the boy and spread details of the family's private lives online. Kline is being arraigned on charges of stalking and cyber harassment. She has pled not guilty to her charges, and is set to appear again in court on February 14th.
