Kensington Mother of 2yo Charged; NJ Woman Killed in Lyft; 91 Stolen Bikes Found in Camden

The mother of a 2-year-old boy whose death has been ruled a homicide has been arrested and charged in the case. 23-year-old Andrea Worrell has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and obstructing justice. Police responded to the 600 block of E. Clementine Street in Kensington just before Midnight on Tuesday. 2-year-old Zyair Worrell was unresponsive and was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children where he was pronounced dead at 2:10 a.m. The medical examiner found a large laceration to his liver, bruising on his chest wall, a bruised ear, an abrasion over his eye, and that he tested positive for THC. He ruled the manner of death homicide. Andrea's boyfirend, who is not the father, remains in custody. He has not yet been charged.

A New Jersey woman was shot and killed last night during an attempted robbery while riding in a Lyft in Trenton. 27-year-old Amber Dudley from Collingswood and two other passengers were taking the Lyft from North Jersey to Trenton. When the vehicle was stopped on the first block of Mechanics Avenue, an unknown armed man forced his way into the back seat and demanded money. They fought him off, but during the struggle a shot was fired. Dudley was hit in the chest. The Lyft driver drove to the Trenton Police East Precinct and Dudley was taken to the hospital where she died. The identities of the driver and other passengers have not been released. The investigation continues.

The Camden County Police Department is looking to reunite several dozen stolen bicylces with their owners. In October, officers responded to a burglar alarm at a bodega on Broadway near Royden. They discovered 91 bikes and a stash of electronics in the basement of the grocery store. Detectives believe this store has been acting a middle man for fenced goods. If you have had your bike stolen recently in Camden County, chances are it may be in this basement.
