The reward is now $25,000 in the hit-and-run death of an Overbrook girl last week. 8-year-old Jayanna Powell was stuck and killed on November 18th while crossing the street with her two siblings at 63rd and Lansdowne Ave. The driver did not stop. The vehicle is described as a gray or silver Nissan Altima or Maxima. It would have front end damage. Powell's family and police urge the driver to turn themselves in to authorities. There was a previous reward of $10,000 from Philadelphia Mayor's Office for information leading to the arrest and conviction. The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) announced an additional $15,000 reward. That reward is for an arrest, but not necessarily a conviction. The total reward is $25,000. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS, or the Philadelphia FOP at 215-629-3626.
