Only hours after SEPTA officials had stated they were "engaging in good faith" with the union strikers, the union president sent out a message, saying their claim was false. President of the TWU Willie Brown stated, "must have dusted off a news release from some other contract negotiation." Brown also stated that SEPTA had "stonewalled" contract talks for months before the union's contract expired. SEPTA officials and union members continued to meet Thursday, and SEPTA stated that they "believed progress towards a deal had been made. However, at each of those seemingly positive turns, TWU Local 234 has brought a halt to negotiations."

Camden Police have now arrested 15 people in connection with a major drug ring going on in the city. Investigators have been working this case for almost 7 months now, and have finally arrested those involved, including the drug ring leader, 33-year-old Fernando Diaz-Rivera, also known as "Gordo." Rivera ran his drug operation from Puerto Rico, and police believe his is responsible for the heroin and coke hitting Camden and North Philly. As well as making the arrests, officials also intercepted shipments of coke and heroin that have a street value of around $2 million. Officials say Rivera faces many charges, including life imprisonment, for the ringleader offense.

A second teen has now been charged in connection with a shooting that took place in Rittenhouse Square. 18-year-old Raeese Nasir turned himself into police at the Central Detective Division this past Monday. 17-year-old Mehdi Fraiji surrenderd to police back on October 22nd for the shooting. The shooting took place back on October 18th when police heard gunshots coming from Rittenhouse Park, and found a 39-year-old man shot and lying on the ground. He was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Police say Nasir has been charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Robbery and many other charges.
